CUET UG 2026 Syllabus
There are three main components in the CUET UG 2026 syllabus. These are language subjects, domain subjects and a general test. Here is the syllabus in brief:
Language Subjects
Language to be tested through reading comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary, and Narrative), Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary.
Domain Subjects
As per the NCERT syllabus for class 12th.
General Aptitude Test
general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts, arithmetic/algebra, geometry/mensuration/statistics), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
Negative Marking and Medium
CUET UG 2026 also includes negative marking, but it is limited to only one-fifth, that is, 20%.
Marking Scheme
The CUET UG 2026 marking scheme awards five marks for every correct answer. To maintain accuracy and fairness in evaluation, the exam also includes negative marking. For each incorrect response, one mark is deducted from the total score. This system encourages candidates to answer questions carefully and discourages random guessing, ensuring that merit is assessed based on both knowledge and precision during the examination.
Mode of the Exam
The CUET UG 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, where candidates will answer all questions using a computer at designated examination centres. This mode ensures a standardized, secure, and efficient testing process, allowing for accurate evaluation and timely declaration of results across all participating universities.
Questions & Duration
Each CUET UG 2026 test paper will consist of a total of 50 questions, and all questions will be compulsory for candidates to attempt. The duration for each test paper will be 60 minutes, providing students with adequate time to carefully read, understand, and answer all questions within the allotted time.
